Harrogate Brasserie has always been famous for it’s live music, with an emphasis on jazz. We have live music on 7 nights a week and with a range of regular artists, there is something for everyone!
This makes Harrogate Brasserie the ideal venue to relax and unwind on weekend breaks, theatre visits, shopping trips, drinks after work or to celebrate a special occasion. You can choose to be front row near the action or in the restaurant area if you prefer your music to be a bit more background.
Monday’s: Dan Burnett or Kate Peters, 6pm – 9pm
Tuesday’s & Wednesday’s: Robin Van Zelst / Cherie Gears / Stu Steels or Jake Pattinson, 7pm – 10pm
Thursday’s: Nicki Allan, 7pm – 10pm
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings we have an ever changing line up of duo or trio artists.
Multi-award nominated blues musician. Dan plays keyboard and sings a variety of blues & soul songs.
Dan learned to play the keys with his father’s guidance after receiving a keyboard for his 3rd birthday. By the time he was 9 years old, he was playing gigs throughout Yorkshire in his dad’s blues band, and from then on, live performance was a way of life.
Kate Peters is a uniquely talented and versatile vocalist based in the north of England. A graduate of Leeds College of Music, Kate has worked in a wide variety of styles and areas of the music industry. Her versatility as a vocalist has enabled her to work alongside some amazing artists, such as Candi Staton, Jaki Graham, Roachford, Katrina Leskanich (Katrina and the Waves) and Angie Brown.
She also runs her own Jazz Choir through York Jazz Initative.
Nicki’s ability to interpret Jazz classics effortlessly has made her a well-respected Jazz singer over recent years being awarded Jazz Yorkshire Vocalist of the year 2011. She works regularly with her Jazz Sextet, performing gigs & festivals throughout the year.
A regular vocalist with The Manhattan Sound Big Band and the Ronnie Bottomley Jazz Orchestra. Nicki has a weekly residency at the Harrogate Brasserie.
The Nightbird Trio
The Nightbird Trio are a jazz trio, comprising piano, bass and drums from Leeds. With prominent and exciting players from the local music scene, they play everything from unique arrangements of classic jazz standards to more contemporary pieces, as well as their own original material.
Tina is a Yorkshire born and bred clarinet and tenor sax player. She follows her dad’s footsteps, who played with legendary composer John Barry and tenorman Tubby Hayes. In addition to being a respected soloist, Tina has performed with the Shades of Stan Kenton Jazz Orchestra, the New Squadronaires and Tony Faulkner Big Band, and has led her own trio since 1990. Tina is a regular performer at jazz clubs across Yorkshire, and is a regular player here at The Harrogate Brasserie with her Trio, performing on 2nd Friday of every month.
TJ2 The Jazz Duo Peters
Instrumental jazz duo featuring Chris Brown on sax, and Peter Booth on keyboard. They do pop songs with a jazz feel – Stevie Wonder, Lennon & McCartney, Burt Bacharach, Billy Joel. Also, more modern – Adele and themes/songs from well-known films (Frozen, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) as well some traditional jazz favorites – all well known songs the whole family can recognize – all easy listening in smooth jazz style.
One of the most enduring partnerships in jazz, Julie (vocals) & Kevin (acoustic guitar) have appeared at the Brasserie for many years, playing a wide selection of jazz classics and popular tunes with their particular smooth, swinging, relaxed jazz stylings, from the 1930’s to date. With everything from Billy Holiday and Nat King Cole to Diana Krall and Jamie Cullum, via James Taylor, Eva Cassidy and even the Jackson Five.
